Time Manipulation Tests (Adobe After Effects)
WEB DESIGN VIDEOS - PHOTO EDITING VIDEO CLIPS

[--NOTES--]This video consists of 5 tests of time manipulation. I test out 5 different ways that I know of to manipulate time and alter it like so. So yeah... if you have any questions, feel free to post it as a comment and I\'ll try to respond to it.[--THE TECHNICAL STUFF--]\nFast Motion:\nFast motion took some time... I realized how extremely shaky the original footage is, so for the first time, I used the footage stabalization tool (\"Stabalize Motion\" in Tracker Controls). After touching it up a bit, I sped it up via the Time Remap feature. When I turned it on, I just squeezed the two keyframes (that are automatically set) really close to each other. I didn\'t use frame blending cuz I didn\'t find the need.\nSlow Motion:\nI used the Time Remap feature for the slow motion. I set some keyframes for all the key frames (lol) in the footage, then spaced the neccessary ones out. In each style, I differed frame blending modes: from Off, to Frame Mix, and to Pixel Motion.\nFast/Slow Motion: \nA simple combination of the two fast and slow motion techinques described above.\nReverse Time: \nFor these, all I really needed to do is reverse the clip by making it a Time-Reverse Layer. For the first reverse time clip, I reversed the audio (which automatically got reverse when I turned on Time-Reverse Layer) so it played as normal.\nTime Freeze:\nFor this one, I cut my footage in half where I thought I should pause it. Then, I applied an effect called \"Timewarp\" to the first half of the split. Then, I keyframed speed from 100 to 0, which made it slow down to a stop. I then took a Photoshop layer (.psd) file of the frame right before the split. I inserted the Photoshop layer into my composition right after the first half of the split, then stretched it out. I deleted the second half of the split footage, then dragged my original footage into a new composition. I then cut it right at the point where the Photoshop layer was. Now, I had an accurate second-half of the split (since the original second-half of the split wasn\'t accurate due to the Timewarp\'s speed keyframing) and I inserted that right after the Photoshop picture finished. Lastly, I keyframed Timewarp\'s speed from 0 to 100 on the second-half of the split footage and filled in the paused image with some text, \"Spice\" (my dog\'s name).\n\n[--DOWNLOADS--]\nVideo: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?x9m1memq5nx\nSong*: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/download/149667\n\n*Song is \"Air Fantasy (REMIX)\" by MrMilkCarton, and it is provided by the NewGrounds Audio Portal.
