AXN Asia has just begun their search for would-be participants of the 3rd Season of The Amazing Race Asia. My bestfriend Shirman Tan and I decided to apply this time around by sending an audition video to the producers of the reality show. I picked Shirman as my racing partner because he has been my buddy for 22 years; since gradeschool. I just know we would make a perfect team in the race. He\'s brainy and I\'m sporty----a winning combination, don\'t you think? As you may have noticed, Shirman is the rather serious and stoic character. I, on the other hand, am the loud and wild one. That\'s how we are in real life, so there really was no acting here at all. We normally speak in Tagalog, but the rules of the Amazing Race Asia application stated that we had to speak in English here.Lucky for you, this is the whole length of the actual audition video. The one I submitted to AXN I had to cut down to 3 minutes in order to follow the instructions specified by the network producers. Due to that, I had to delete the \"talking Allan Wu\" composite, the \"Peanut Butter&Jelly\" clip, the \"Bald One\" joke and the \"Pie--in-the-Face\" scene. It\'s really a pity because they were really funny parts of the original version.Shirman and I had a lot of fun shooting this audition video. I wrote the whole script and even did storyboards to plan everything. I directed Shirman and myself on a blue chroma reflect media studio weeks ago. After digitizing all the raw clips, I edited the whole sequence in Adobe Premiere, added sound effects&musical scores in AcidPro and then placed graphics&artwork in Adobe After Effects. Whew!!! That\'s me.... a one-man production house!!!! Jason O. We completed the audition tape weeks ago and are just waiting to be contacted by AXN. Hmmmmm.....I\'m beginning to doubt that we were chosen because it\'s been a long time already and still no word from them. :-( Oh well, atleast Shirmsky and I had a blast doing this crazy thing.
