Ok, so you've started to edit your website and you want to upload it to the internet and see what it looks like. Click the wsftp icon on your desktop to open the program. note: If you someone else has been editing your website and you need to download it from the internet to your computer in order to edit it click here.

Now you have the wsftp program open. |

1. Fill in the blanks as shown at right.

Profile
Name: Is your website name. In this case our website is called mysite. Host Name Address: Is the web address. Which would be www.mysite.com User ID: This is chosen by you or your web host. If you host with me it is the name of your website. mysite Password: This is chosen by you if you host with me. In this case it is 12345 Then click OK. |

Then your screen will look like this for a few seconds. |

This part threw me for a loop when I was learning, and I dont know why. But it is very simple. The right side is connected to the internet (in other words its your website actually as it is on the internet) The left side is connected to your computer. Notice C:\ - Thats your C drive. For some reason it has the wsftp folder from my desktop opened. This may not make sense lets jsut keep following the directions. |
